Let’s get to know each other
Welcome, My name is Hilario

Here's a bit of my story for those of you that don't me. I was born and raised in Cuba, in the outskirts of Havana. I grew up in a household full of spontaneous adventures and family trips. Growing up as the youngest of two children, I was definitely the busy child as my interests were EVERYWHERE from early on...From dancing and acting, to playing travel baseball, soccer and basketball all at the same time.
My first time seeing a camera, I was probably around 5 years old. It was on one of the many family trips that we would go on and although it wasn't a fancy camera or the perfect composition, it sparked a new interest. The camera that was bought for my sister became mine for that entire trip.
Fast forward to 2015, I moved to Canada. My dad had been in the country for 7 years at this point and we decided that it would be best to move in with him for High School. As you can probably imagine during this time, the interest for photography was left behind for a while...Between learning a new culture, language and trying to make new friends. I attended school in Halifax, Nova Scotia for grades 10 and 11 and my grade 12 year in Fredericton, New Brunswick. After living in the East coast for my first 3 years in the country, I decided to move yet again, this time to the Niagara Region, where I have been since meeting the love of my life!
During the pandemic, with nothing else to do, I decided to pick the camera back up. However, due to all the different restrictions at the time and after taking billions of pictures of my fiancé, I decided to do nature photography for a while. During this time we were also expecting our beautiful daughter, so I really didn't want to risk meeting anyone during this time. I used it to really
focus on my craft.
The last couple of years have flown by and I have had the opportunity to capture really amazing stories alongside my fiancé and daughter. I've also had the chance to meet amazing people throughout this journey who have helped me grow as a photographer!
Today what drives me is connecting with people, places, and the little details that make a shot special. From a couple in love - to a quiet landscape, or the energy of a city street, I’m all about being present in the moment and letting my creativity flow.
Outside of photography, I'm still the busy child...with a child of my own! You can find me playing baseball or soccer, walking down one of the many trails in the region with the family, or hanging out with my very functional group of friends. If you have made it this far, thank you so much for reading my story. I hope to hear from you soon!!
